Testing Services

Mission Statement:

The Testing Center's mission is to accurately administer, report and store assessment records and to provide a comfortable testing environment for URG/RGCC students as well as members of the community.

Location:

URG/RGCC's Testing Center is located within the New Student Advising Office, Testing & Career Services in the James Rhodes Student Center, Room 115.

Hours of Operation:

Normal operating hours are:

Monday - Friday, 9:00 am - 3:00 pm

Tests Offered:

• Compass Placement Test - www.act.org/compass
  This test helps ensure the proper skill level at which a student is placed into his or her courses.

• The College-Level Examination Program (CLEP) - www.collegeboard.com/clep
  This test allows one to choose any of the 34 exams offered.

• The American College Test (ACT) - www.act.org
  This test is a national test that measures academic aptitude and readiness to enter college.

• Residual ACT
  An ACT test whereas the scores are only reported to the examinee's institution. Scores cannot be used for scholarship purposes or athletic eligibility. A 60-day period between residual tests is mandatory.

• Pearson Vue Certification Exams - www.pearsonvue.com
  Computer-based testing for IT, academic, government and professional testing programs.

• Praxis - www.ets.org
  Evaluates general academic skills prior to entry into teacher education programs.

  A standardized test that helps business schools assess the applicants for advanced study in business and management.

• Faculty Make-up Exams
  The make-up test service is offered to assist both the student and instructor with special accommodation testing.

• Online Proctoring
  Proctoring of exams from other institutions can be done by contacting Bev McManus at 740-245-7004 or bmcmanus@rio.edu.

Policies

Everyone testing in the Testing Center is required to show a photo ID. No Cell Phones allowed.

Fees

Prices Effective July 1, 2010
